____ Max Melvin // Satellite

Max Melvin are back with their second long player “Satellite”. And, when you hear this excellent eleven-track course in relaxation therapy, you will probably think the producers Andreas Bruhn and Stefan Rekittke are the most relaxed people in the world. The two guys from Hamburg don’t seem to know the meaning of rush and stress.
As on the previous album “Seaside”, their songs are stripped down to the basic components: smooth beats, relaxed sounds and great voices which casually enchant listeners in an unbelievable way. ____ Nova June // Ground

What do you associate with Sweden? Ikea, pine furniture and vodka?

There is a lot more to it than that, the country does have more exciting export products. For instance, when you hear for the first time what the Swedes come up with during the long mid-summer nights in secluded wooden-panelled studios, you realise why they need their isolation most - to compose music. ____ Compendium // Moving

Music grows together... Compendium moves!

Starting like an excursion into the depths of the synthesizer, the record quickly develops into a trip through the history of sound and rhythm. Airy grooves guide you through a universe of sounds.

The Hamburg duo Compendium has set itself no musical limits. Fresh downbeats meet powerful big band passages, hectic congas collide with soft voices - Compendium create and fiddle around, not shying away from experimentation. The result is an album that both moves and touches you. Out 21.05.2002 on maxelect records

____ Max Melvin // Seaside

Masterminded by producers Andreas Bruhn and Stefan Rekittke, “Seaside” is a true artist’s album. The two Hamburg residents combined their talents and ideas in order to create a musical experience that would be nothing like the stuff they did before. “This time, we wanted to come up with the kind of music we like to listen to ourselves, nothing more and nothing less,” explains Stefan.

Inspired by styles as varied as jazz, ambient and classical music, Andreas and Stefan created a kaleidoscope of sounds, easy beats, smooth bass lines and wonderfully warm vocals – a fantastic journey through the melancholy of music. Out 15.04.2002 on maxelect records.
